Objectives :
We have already waged several campaigns on the subject of the importance of the identity of our countrysides in our lives. However, a certain number of us now believe that the programme of industrial windmills which the industry and the 'Greens' wish to impose on us will probably represent the greatest change on our identity, both cultural and countryside, that our region has ever had to face. We believe that this issue merits serious reflection.
Who are we ? People of this area, of all social classes, of all trades, of all political tendancies. And speaking of politics, we now find ourselves in open conflict with our friends the 'Greens' with whom, for a long time, we have cooperated on campaigns and reflections on many subjects.

Communique : A meeting was organised for all associations, institutions and individuals, concerned by the problem of the proliferation of industrial windmill sites in our region ( about a hundred sites are planned in the Aude and the same in the Herault ...).

The object of the meeting was to create a 'crisis group' to coordinate both the information requirements and the actions necessary to bring the results of our reflexions to the attention of the public authorities and also to bring together all interested parties for an examination of all aspects of the problem raised by the threat to the countryside of the proliferation of industrial windmill parks. We wish to demonstrate that we are not tainted by the NIMBY syndrome, a criticism often levied against us.

Communiqué de presse - from 16 September, 2001.

"Vent de colère"

This is the name of the group which has just been created, this Sunday, by about twenty associations from the Languedoc Roussillon, PACA, and Midi-Pyrénées Regions.

Sunday 16 September, 150 participants, representing some twenty associations for the protection of the environment, met in Paraza in the Aude to create an inter-regional working group in order to federate this information and actions concerning the imminent proliferation of industrial windmill sites. Constantly confronted by a wall of silence and in front of the reality of a black-out on all information and the incredible weakness of the regulations, these associations have decided to react with vigour, before the next elections. If the politicians, councillors, the public authorities and the industrial powers continue their game of poker that they have decided to make us play, the advantages of the windmill risk not taking the trick faced with the rising tide of objectors.
