Stay in this beautifully restored Maison de Maître in the friendly village of Cesseras, in the north-eastern sector of the Minervois. Chateau Marcel offers 3 large, well equipped apartments that each sleep 6 and also offers "Bed and Breakfast" accomodation.
The courtyard swimming pool is perfect for cooling off after you have spent the day in the surrounding Minervois hills visiting the numerous historic sites that the Languedoc offers. Abbeys, ancient picturesque villages and castles are easily accessible from Chateau Marcel, so too are the potent red wines endemic to the region that can be sampled at the hundreds of wineries that abound in the countryside.
Mediterranean, sandy beaches are a 40 minute drive away. The Chateau is well placed for easy access from the airports of Carcassonne, Perpignan, Montpellier and Toulouse.
Your host, Derek, would be delighted to organise workshops or tours for groups interested in the rich culture of the region, its wines, or the properties that are becoming increasingly attractive for people seeking a change of lifestyle.

You will discover this spacious Maison de Maître on a small hill, in the heart of the old village of Cesseras about 3 km from the market town of Olonzac. The village cafe and bar is about 100 metres away in a small square just down the hill from the gates of Chateau Marcel.

In the neighbourhood
In the village, you'll find tennis, pétanque, baker's shop. At Olonzac, about 4 km away, you'll find shops, restaurants, bar and most services. At Minerve, a few kilometers up the hill, you'll find the wonderful scenery of the gorges and the causse as well as hints of the mystery of the Cathars.
