Just outside of Pouzols, located on the D5 between Carcassonne and Beziers, just 25 km from Narbonne, you will discover the Restaurant/Hotel Auberge Etoile D'Oc.

The characteristic building is situated on a Terradel overlooking the plain of the Minervois with its fascinating vineyards, of interest in each season. Just outside the perimeter of the Auberge you can enjoy hiking into the mountains or enjoy the beauty of the Cathare region.

Events

Since April 2000 we have started with light jazz dinner evenings, highly appreciated by our customers. Started as an initiative for an anniversary the success made it clear that we would continue on a regular base.

Since the autumn of 2000 these "musical" evenings are organised in a regular setting. The visitors to these "soirees musicales" were excited and are looking forward to attending the next events.
During these evenings we serve a special menu focusing on a typical region of France or of other countries depending on the season.

Specialities

The restaurant is well known for its wide variety of specialities as well as local menus presenting the beauty of the regional products. In wintertime the "gibier" (game meats) are an important part of the special menus. The Daube de Sanglier, Sauté de Biche and Chevreuil roti are highly appreciated.
Furthermore we have a variety of "not common" dishes eg. 'Filet de kangarou' and 'daube of autruche'.

If you prefer fish dishes, the Auberge will be able to suggest a wide variety of both familiar and unknown fish preparations. The sole meuniere is always a favorite. However, if you would like to sample something different do not hesitate to try the Swordfish with creamy mustard sauce or the 'Lotte farcie à la méthode Orloff' (very famous and tasty preparation of this delicate fish).

The dining room, Auberge de l'Etoile d'Oc, Pouzols In summer and springtime (sometimes even possible in October and November) there is the possibility of dining outside on the beautifully situated terraces.

Sitting on the terrace you will have a great view over the valley and the pool side. In the winter of 2000 a renovation of the terrain as well as the pool will be made in order to serve our customers even better than before.

Celebrations

We are not only able to create a venue for the regular restaurant visitors but also will be happy to propose a special menu for your anniversaries or special occasions. Together with you we will suggest a menu tailor made for the occasion.

The restaurant and its team will be able to prepare you an unforgetable dinner for up to 80 persons at prices which will surprise you.

It will be obvious that we only use fresh products and preparations since that is the only way to taste and experience the flavours of the region.

We are a French restaurant however we do speak English, French, German, Italian and (being Dutch) not surprisingly, Dutch.
