The bookstore was established in 1980, in a former wine cellar, on the banks of the Canal du Midi, to provide its clientele with a selection of 30,000 books of all types, subjects, ages, arranged by theme.
Le Somail is an exceptional site situated at 12 km from Narbonne, 30 km from Béziers and 50 km from Carcassonne. The 'Librairie Ancienne' bookstore is close to the northern end of the historic old bridge over the Canal du Midi.
The bookstore is open every day :
from 1st April to 30th September : 10h / 12h and 14h30 / 18h30
from 1st October to 31st March : 14h30 / 18h30
closed for holidays from 15 - 30 November, Christmas day and New Year's day
